CapVoxa User Guide
CapVoxa helps with face-to-face conversations, live captions, camera translation, Object Translate, and AI notes. Before you start, allow microphone, speech recognition, and camera permissions. Translation needs an internet connection, and noisy spaces work best when the phone is close to the speaker.
Live Conversation
- Open the Conversation tab.
- Choose the languages for you and the other person.
- Place the phone between you and speak naturally.
- Turn on Auto-play translation if you want CapVoxa to read both sides aloud.
Face-to-face Table Mode
For in-person conversations, place the phone between both speakers. Each side can read their own captions and translation, which works well for front desks, housing visits, directions, medical reception, and other conversations that need back-and-forth confirmation.
Live Captions
Captions are useful for listening to talks, videos, or spoken instructions. Choose the source and target languages, keep the microphone within range, and CapVoxa will show recognized speech and translation continuously.
Camera and Text Translation
In Camera, point at menus, forms, notices, or instructions, then keep the image steady before capturing. CapVoxa recognizes the text and shows originals next to translations so you can compare them.
Object Translate
On devices that support iOS 17 or later, open Object Translate, then take a photo of an object around you or choose one from Photos. Confirm the lifted subject, or switch to recognizing the whole image; CapVoxa then creates a bilingual name card, reads the word aloud, and lets you save the sticker or add the result to notes.
AI Notes and Summaries
After a conversation, you can turn content into notes, summaries, and follow-up items. AI output may need review, so confirm important information against the original text, the person you spoke with, or official documents.
Voice and Voice Cloning
In Settings, you can adjust auto-play, playback speed, your voice, and the other person's voice. Voice cloning asks you to record a sample, then can be used to read translations on your side.
Subscription and Usage
Free allowance and paid benefits follow what the app shows. You can manage or cancel subscriptions from the Apple ID Subscriptions page in iOS Settings.
